What Are the Most Common Types of Diseases?

There are many different types of diseases. These diseases are categorized into three categories, and these are autoimmune, bacterial, and fungal. An autoimmune disease is simply a special abnormal condition which negatively effects the structure or function of some or all of an organ, and this is not caused by any direct external cause. Many diseases are also commonly referred to as associated symptoms, since they generally display some common characteristic symptoms.

Bacterial and fungal diseases occur when microorganisms in the body become abnormally active. The first signs that a person has a disease such as this can be redness of the skin, weight loss, and fever. There may also be an increase in the presence of certain bacteria in the blood or in the stools. If the condition develops into an infection, then other symptoms include swelling of the lymph nodes in and around the infected area, and fever. Many diseases which affect the immune system can also lead to fever, as well as swollen lymph nodes and joint or muscle aches.

Autoimmune diseases occur when the immune system recognizes the body’s tissues as foreign, and then mounts an assault against them. Common symptoms of an autoimmune disease include lupus, allergies, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, and hypothyroidism. Many diseases which affect the body’s autoimmune functions are infectious diseases like measles, flu, herpes, and shingles; diseases which weaken the body’s defenses (such as chemotherapy, radiation, or drugs); and diseases which affect the brain, such as Parkinson’s.

Fungal diseases occur when the body develops immunity against certain fungi. Common symptoms of this disease include a white growth on the skin, a foul smelling odor, or swelling. Yeast infections, however, tend to cause more serious problems than just a bad odor or a swelling. When yeast enters the body it overgrows until it becomes invasive, causing internal and external itching, pain, and discharge.

Parasitic diseases are caused by parasites living in the body. They can invade from another source and cause serious problems. Some common parasitic diseases include lice, ticks, fleas, and chiggers. Other parasitic diseases which can affect people are yeast infections, scabies, and certain types of mites.

In order to prevent diseases you need to make sure to get regular checkups with your doctor. Be sure to have any of these diseases diagnosed and treated immediately, before they lead to other more serious problems. Prevention is often better than cure, so be sure to take care of yourself! Eat healthy, get plenty of rest, exercise regularly, and avoid stress.
